With 1235 people in attendance, Justice Knox filled the floor of the civic auditorium in April 2023 for our annual Action assembly. With the Action, we secured commitments from Mayor Kincannon to co-host and attend a homelessness and housing summit with Justice Knox and commitments from city council people and county commission to attend the summit. We also secured commitments from KAT Director Isaac Thorne and city of Knoxville officials to take specific steps in the coming year to roll out an micro-transit initiative in summer 2024. Mayor Jacobs had agreed to meet with our leaders post-Action. With a picture of the Assembly gathered in hand, 25 Justice Knox leaders representing all of our congregations met with him in May 2023 securing his commitment to also co-host and attend a homelessness and housing summit with Justice Knox to build momentum for solving the problem we face in our community.
